The University has designed the voting system and used reasonable procedures to address concerns about security of operation, privacy and scrutiny of the voting processes. A vote must only be cast by an authorised individual using his or her own user password. Each vote is encrypted and validated to ensure that only a valid formal vote from each staff member is counted. All data will be destroyed after the ballot is complete and finalised. A secure web server is used to provide access to the web voting. However, the University cannot guarantee that a breach will not occur under conditions of bad faith, inappropriate use, or misuse, although procedures have been put in place to minimise this risk.
